This exterior sealant and adhesive is specially formulated for direct glazing of organic glass in marine applications. Suitable for bonding organic glass in marine environments, this product meets the International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards.

Key Features:

  • Exceptional application properties
  • Durable against aging and weather conditions
  • Ideal for use with organic glasses

Typical Uses:

Developed for the marine industry, Sikaflex® 295UV is perfect for bonding and sealing plastic glazing materials on boats and ships. Its robust weather resistance allows it to be used for sealing joints in exposed areas. Compatible with various substrates including aluminum, fiberglass, stainless steel, wood, and certain plastics, it is essential to conduct adhesion tests on new materials prior to use.

Product Advantages:

  • Excellent application properties
  • Resistant to aging and weathering
  • OEM market approved
  • Wheelmark approved

Surface Preparation:

Ensure substrates are clean, dry, and free from oils, dust, and contaminants. Surface preparation is crucial and should be tailored to the specific substrates in question. Reference the Sika® Pre-treatment Chart for guidance.

Application Guidelines:

Process Sikaflex® 295UV at temperatures between 10°C and 35°C for optimal results. The ideal conditions for performance are between 15°C and 25°C. To promote ease of application, allow the adhesive to acclimate to room temperature before use, and apply in a triangular bead for uniform thickness.

Finishing and Tooling:

Finishing should occur within the product's skin time using Sika® Tooling Agent N. Alternate agents must be assessed for compatibility.

Cleanup:

Uncured material can be cleaned from tools with Sika® Remover-208 or an appropriate solvent. Once cured, removal requires mechanical action. Clean exposed skin immediately using Sika® Cleaner-350H or a suitable hand cleaner.

Painting:

Sikaflex® 295UV can be painted before or after skin formation. If painting occurs after curing, consider treating the surface with Sika® Aktivator-100 or Sika® Aktivator-205 to improve adhesion. Ensure that paint types are evaluated for compatibility with the sealant.
